Remember Me

Listen to "Remember Me", a song that Bev Zizzy wrote
about her mother who has Alzheimer's disease. This is what Bev says about
"Remember Me": "Although the song often brings tears, it
was always my intent to focus on the positives: on my appreciation of
my mother, how much she gave to me, and on how she lives on in spite of
her memory loss. I hope that by sharing this story in "Remember
Me", my music will provide comfort, nurturing and strength to
others in similar situations."

Bev
discovered her attraction for music as an adult, studying voice and guitar.
Her true instrument is her voice; song writing is her mode of expression;
and singing is her true passion. The effect is compelling music.

She has come into her own as a songwriter and solo performing artist.
Her stories are real, and her delivery of them, a vocally compelling blend
of blues, jazz, and soul, is intense, innovative, and passionate. Like
a good story, her lyrics will stay with you long after the music is over.

| When I was just
a little girl, I watched her dance and sing so well
She was everything to me, like her I would someday be
Then I grew up and left my home, all round this big old world I
did roam
Traveling far and running free, I discovered she is me.
Now I sit here with heavy heart, watching her bittersweet
life depart
Hardest thing I've ever done, was make my mama leave her home
For she was always there for me, now what can I do to set her free?
Chains she bears without a groan encage her mind and leave her all
alone.
Will she remember me today?
She's the one who taught me to smile this way.
She showed me how to laugh and how to play.
Will she remember me today?
Now I have children of my own, one day they'll leave
their mama's home
Though it has been a happy place, the taste of freedom they will
embrace
With them I've sung, I've danced, I've played, the music's never
gone away
These gifts my mama gave so well, deep inside them they now dwell.
Will she remember me today?
She's the one who taught me to smile this way
She showed me how to laugh and how to play
Will she remember me today?
Her memories have fallen along with the leaves
Autumns succumbed to a cold winter breeze
Her eyes are now vacant, her body is weak
But her spirit lives on, her spirit lives on, her spirit lives on
inside of me.
Her spirit lives on, her spirit lives on, her spirit lives on inside
of me
