January is Alzheimer Awareness Month!
Each January, Alzheimer Awareness Month educates Canadians about new discoveries in research, advances in care, and programs
and services that are available to help people who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The focus this year is on prevalence
information and the staggering cost of dementia contained in a new study Rising Tide: The Impact of Dementia on Canadian Society.
This year’s campaign Put Your Mind To It asks Canadians to do what they can to help turn the tide, and ease the impact
of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Actions include making a donation to support critical research, raising your voice to this country’s
parliamentarians and provincial legislators, and helping to reduce your own risk of developing dementia by making a commitment to better brain health.
